​My Childcare Journey

Before founding Tootsies Daycare, I spent many years working in high fashion and design, completing my BA, MA and later a PhD in Applied Arts, where I focused on art therapy and how creativity can be a form of healing.

Throughout my career, I supported young people from diverse and challenging backgrounds — working in community outreach, mentoring students, and helping them build confidence through art and design. I saw first-hand how positive guidance can change a life.

When I became a mother, everything shifted.

I realised the early years are where foundations are formed — confidence, security, emotional wellbeing and self-belief. If we nurture children positively at this stage, that impact stays with them for life.

That is why I chose childcare.

At Tootsies, I combine creativity, emotional awareness and structure to create a safe, joyful and nurturing environment where children feel valued, confident and ready to grow.

Because what we plant in the early years becomes the foundation for adulthood.
