At Tootsies Daycare, we nurture confident, kind and curious children.
We focus on building strong foundations through play, creativity and real-life learning. From muddy outdoor adventures to painting with bare hands, exploring textures, and getting wonderfully messy, we encourage children to try new things and express themselves freely.
Alongside creativity, we gently teach important life skills — kindness, sharing, independence, resilience, and understanding the difference between right and wrong.
We believe children learn best when they feel safe, supported and celebrated for who they are. Our role is to guide them with positivity, structure and care, helping them grow into confident little individuals ready for the world.
Our Environment & Activities
At our wonderful setting, we are proud to offer a spacious garden filled with exciting outdoor play opportunities. Children can enjoy the bouncy castle, slide, ride-on cars, space hoppers, ball pit and soft play equipment — all designed to support physical development, coordination and confidence.
We encourage children to enjoy fresh air every day, whatever the weather, helping them build resilience and a love for the outdoors.
Inside, our bright and well-resourced playroom is filled with natural light and carefully chosen materials that inspire curiosity and creativity. Children are free to explore a wide range of engaging activities, including:

Outdoor Play
We have a lovely big garden in the heart of furzdown, with lots of exciting outdoor play opportunities including a bouncy castle, slide, little Didi cars, big hoppers, ball pit and soft play. We encourage the children to get plenty of fresh air whatever the weather. We will also be going out to the park which is very close to the house, under very close supervision. We will encourage them to join in and select an activity or area of play that they particularly enjoy.
Indoor Play
As part of our childcare services, we will offer a selection of activity like painting or lego building playdough or and storytime as well. We will also have a range of activities to help grow their creative side such as cooking, arts and crafts, junk modelling, dressing up, making up stories and rhymes, jigsaws, construction with lego and buliding blocks, cars and trains, superhero and role play.
Sleep Time
Younger babies will probably need several periods of sleep during the day, We will provide blankets and linens for the children sleep times. As well as the nappies to keep all the children clean and dry. As they get older sleep time will be reduced to one sleep, usually after lunch. We will always endeavor to enable your child to sleep when they want to, and will also work with you to establish a routine that suits their specific needs.
Yummy Meals
Food will be served as follows; Breakfast 8:00 till 8:30, mid-morning snacks 10:00, lunch 11:30 till 12:00, 14:00 afternoon snack and at 16:00 tea time. All meals are homemade and prepared at the daycare centre. We will do my best to cater for special dietary/religion /allergy requirements. We will say ‘Thank you’ prior to eating to encourage good manners. I do respect each child’s individual and cultural needs and treat meal times as a social learning occasion.
